SHILLONG, MAY 7: National People’s Party (NPP) on Thursday demanded an apology from Meghalaya sports & youths affair minister Zenith Sangma for allegedly generalizing the youth of Meghalaya as ‘irresponsible’ and who only sought enjoyment.
“We demand an apology from Zenith Sangma for casting aspersions on the youth of Meghalaya where we believed are the torch bearer of our future,” NPP Youth Wing president Clifford M Nengnong said in a statement on Thursday.
Nengnong said that the recent statement made by Zenith Sangma generalising the youths of Meghalaya as irresponsible who only sought enjoyment is very unfortunate.
Nengnong said the NPP condemns such kind of statements that pained the youth of Meghalaya and put them in a very poor light in the eyes of the country and the world.- By Our Reporter
