SHILLONG, APR 6: The bustling Khyndailad– Police Bazaar- came to a grinding halt when the students of the Martin Luther Christian University- MLCU- and its vice chancellor Robert Garnett Lyngdoh surprised the people with a flash mob and started dancing on Monday much to the delight of the onlookers.

Not surprisingly, the ever humming and foot-tapping RG Lyngdoh- known as Bob to many- led from the front and took to the dance floor like a duck to water. The dance floor- street- was soon swarmed by the MLCU students as they gave a scintillating dance treat to the tune of famous and popular song “Happy” by Pharrell Williams.

The flash mob dance with the theme, “Be Happy Always”, is part of the inaugural of the MLCU Week- 2015  “Aurora-15” and students from all the different departments took part in the dance.

As Robert G Lyngdoh began took to the dance floor with two other students joined later by his students, the crowd gathered round the dancers to get a closer look and the entrance to main bazaar between MUDA complex and Palace café got jam-packed with onlookers jostling with each others to have a dekho at the dancers who gave what they had- engrossing dance performance which was a treat to watch.

This flash mob marked the beginning of a week-long celebration of the University Week, including fete, Lan Gaming, Collage Making, Karaoke and other fun filled events as part of the recreational activities of the MLCU for its students. The closing ceremony of the Varsity Week will be held on April 11.- By Our Reporter

Hi, this sounds amazing. I would like to get in touch with this group of students regarding a guest performance as a surprise for a friend based in shillong. Would it be possible to get in touch with them and find out if they would be courteous enough to agree to perform a short stint. If yes, i will be honored to hear from them. thanks and God Bless.
