Teacher selling fake results held

Shillong, Sept 24: The Jaintia Youth Federation – Khliehriat Circle (JYF-KC) apprehended a teacher for his involvement in selling fake “matriculation-results” of Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA), to “failed candidates” in the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examinations showing they had passed.

The teacher identified as Uttam Dahal was apprehended following a trap laid by JYF .

JYF-KC member Heibormi S Shylla  Dahal is a teacher at the Little Flower High School in Khliehriat West in East Jaintia hills district  and has been carrying his illegal business since 2010. He said, “The teacher had sold such “fabricated results” to at least 6 students who paid between Rs 50,000 – Rs 70,000.

Shylla informed “These fabricated results are from the Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA).” According to him Dahal is assisted by a retired peon of the Gorkha Pathchala Higher Secondary School at Garikhana, Shillong.

Dahal was handed over to the police at Khliehriat police station and a case has been registered.- By Our Reporter
