SHILLONG, AUG 1: Meghalaya chief minister Mukul Sangma on Friday said that the state’s investigating agency has been directed to investigate into the A’chik National Volunteer Council – Breakaway (ANVC-B) nexus with Pakistan ISI for creating communal tension in Garo hills and north east region.
Sangma statement follows the arrest of 24 cadres of the ANVC(B) from Edenbari in West Garo hills district for their alleged involvement in killing migrant labourers from neigbouring state of Assam.
“We are looking at bigger plot and conspiracy of this organization and I also have directed the investigating agency to find out as to who are the smart minds behind these people guiding them,” Sangma told reporters.
Sangma said it cannot be rule out the involvement of ISI and other anti national elements, therefore this investigation would be given the kind of seriousness that it deserves. “
According to Sangma the evidence on which the police based the arrested of the ANVC(B) militants is very “disturbing”.- By Our Reporter
