SHILLONG, APR 9: Nine malfunctioning Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) were replaced after the voting process started for the two Lok Sabha seats in Meghalaya. However, Meghalaya chief electoral officer P Naik said that polling in the booths were the EVMs were replaced was smooth and commence immediately.
Naik informed that before the EVMs were sent to the polling stations the election department detected 47 malfunctioning EVMs and when the mock polls were conducted 14 malfunctioning EVMs were detected.- By Our Reporter
