SHILLONG, MAR 5: The state government approved the extension of the service of a retired principal of Pine Mount School till a new principal is appointed. “This is a post-facto approval which is based on circumstances, which needed the extension of the service of the principal of the school who retired from the post on December 31 last year,” chief minister Mukul Sangma told reporters after the cabinet meeting on Wednesday.
Sangma said the approval for extension of the retired principal has been brought to the cabinet as the person who was offered the post has apparently declined to accept the post and there is rule in the ICSE that whoever holds this post must be post graduate otherwise the conduct of examination process cannot be approved by the ICSE which is a procedural requirement.
The examination for the post will be completed on April 5.
Sangma said, “The services of the retired principal will continue until the examinations are over and process of appointment is completed.”
The cabinet also approved the amendment in the State Police Act to further facilitate the ongoing recruitment in the Special Force 10.
“Portion of the guidelines in the process need to be corrected which is in regard to giving of the marks, bonus marks as it was not clear, so we have corrected it to have clarity so that the recruitment board would have clarity as to when to add that bonus mark,” Sangma informed.- By Our Reporter
