SHILLONG, JAN 31: Roger Binny A Sangma, former Delhi A’chik Youth Association (DAYA) president, formally joined the National People’s Party (NPP) along with his supporters in a meeting held at Asanang, West Garo hills district on Friday.
An MBA, Roger had contested the last assembly elected and garnered 4000 votes coming second in the Tura North constituency. He joined the NPP in the presence of its national president PA Sangma, Thomas A Sangma former Rajya Sabha MP, James K Sangma MLA, Semford B Sangma national observer NPP and other party leaders.
Roger Binny Sangma said that he believed in the leadership of PA Sangma and that is why he joined the NPP. He also blamed the current leaders of Meghalaya for the rampant corruption and deterioration of law and order in the state, especially Garo hills.
While welcoming Roger Binny A Sangma to the party’s fold, PA Sangma said that he was very happy that young, educated and dynamic people like Roger Binny Sangma were coming forward and playing an active role in politics.
Roger Binny A Sangma was also appointed the general secretary in-charge of Youth Affairs for West Garo hills district at the meeting.- By Our Reporter
