SHILLONG, DEC 1: Meghalaya Frontier BSF celebrated the 48 Raising Day at Mawpat on Sunday. The function was inaugurated with lighting of lamp by BSF Inspector General of Meghalaya Frontier Anil Kumar.
In his address Kumar exhorted the jawans and officers to maintain utmost vigil on border and ensure security of border and border population. He said that the BSF headquarter is taking care of the jawans welfare and they should take care of the borders.
A free medical camp was organized at Shibbari village on Indo-Bangladesh border of 132 Bn BSF deployed in South Garo Hills district of Meghalaya. The aim of the medical camp is for the benefit of under privileged people of border areas. Three hundred civilians that includes male, female and children from the border villages were examined and given free medicine in the camp by BSF medical officers.
Besides guarding the border the BSF is also putting effort to make the life of border population comfortable happier, healthy and disease free. In the past also BSF has been conducting various medical camps for the border population.- By Our Reporter
