SHILLONG, NOV 22: A parliamentary fact finding standing committee on education led by Rao Virendar Singh arrived in Shillong on Friday to find the functioning of the education sector of Meghalaya. The team comprises of several MPs will find out how the CBSE courses are being taken up in schools and colleges of the city which are following the central board syllabus.
The committee will also study how the higher level institutes are functioning. Refusing to reveals detail to media claiming that it is confidential, the team visited BK Bajoria School and Assam Public School and interacted with the students and tried to glean various lacunas that hinder the education sector in Meghalaya.
The committee will also visit Assam apart from Meghalaya during its fact finding mission. The recommendations of the committee would be submitted before the parliament for necessary discussions and actions after the compilation of the report.- By Our Reporter
