SHILLONG, SEPT 20: A pack of twenty stray dogs attacked Pradip Chaudhury a resident of Rynjah on Thursday morning and nearly mauled him seriously. Chaudhury went out for a morning walk when he was attacked by the stray dogs.
Chaudhury said,“At around 5:30 am , like any other day. I went for a morning walk, when one dog came sniffing and started barking. It created a chain reaction, suddenly one dog jumped on top of me and started to bite then the other dogs too joined.”
Chaudhury said in order to save himself from the dogs he started shouting and a lady came out with a stick and help him chased the dogs away.”
Shekhar Das Secretary of Matri Sangha informed, “Few days back one lady and her children were also attacked. These dogs come out in the streets only at night and early morning after that they disappear.”
Das also said if such incident happened to a minor or an old age person what would be the consequences. He said there are around 70 dogs in the area that create such nuisance.
Das said the Matri Sangha will complain to the Deputy Commissioner and urge the municipality to trap and dispose these dogs.- By Our Reporter
